Joško Gvardiol, born on January 23, 2002, is a Croatian footballer who plays as a left-back or centre-back for Manchester City in the Premier League and the Croatian national team.
He began his professional career at Dinamo Zagreb, where he made his debut in 2019 and won two league titles along with the Croatian Cup. In 2021, he transferred to RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga, winning two DFB-Pokals before moving to Manchester City in 2023 for £77 million, becoming the most expensive defender in history.
As a youth international for Croatia, Gvardiol debuted for the senior team in 2021 and competed in UEFA Euro 2020, the 2022 FIFA World Cup, and Euro 2024, contributing to Croatia’s third-place finish in the 2022 World Cup.
