Declan Rice, born on January 14, 1999, is an English footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder for Arsenal in the Premier League and the England national team. Renowned for his stamina, strength, ball carrying ability, and tackling skills, he is considered one of the world’s top defensive midfielders.
Rice’s professional career began at West Ham United after being released by Chelsea’s academy. He established himself as a key first-team player by 2017. In 2022, he succeeded Mark Noble as club captain and led the team to a UEFA Europa Conference League title the following year, earning the Player of the Season accolade in the competition. After making 245 appearances for West Ham, Rice joined Arsenal in July 2023 for a club record fee of £100 million, becoming the joint-most-expensive English player ever.
