Atakan Karazor, born on 13 October 1996 in Essen, North Rhine-Westphalia, has made a significant impact in professional football as a defensive midfielder. Despite his German birthplace, Karazor chose to represent the Turkey national team, honoring his Turkish heritage.

Karazor’s football journey began with local clubs Schwarz-Weiß Essen and VfL Bochum before he joined Borussia Dortmund in 2015. At Dortmund, he made his senior debut with the reserve team in the Regionalliga West, where he played 59 games over two seasons. His talent shone brightly, especially during a 2–0 win at 1. FC Köln II, where he scored on 4 October 2015.

In June 2017, Karazor signed with Holstein Kiel in the 2. Bundesliga. Despite an early setback with an ankle injury, he made his professional debut in January 2018 and quickly became an integral part of the team. He scored his first professional goals in the 2018-19 season, proving his worth as a key player.

May 2019 marked a new chapter for Karazor as he joined VfB Stuttgart. His first season saw him help Stuttgart earn promotion to the Bundesliga, notably scoring twice in a 6-0 victory against 1. FC Nürnberg. Karazor made his Bundesliga debut on 3 October 2020 and became a regular fixture in the team. His commitment to Stuttgart was cemented when he extended his contract until June 2028 and was named the team captain in 2024.

On the international stage, Karazor opted to represent Turkey, making his debut in 2017. His decision highlighted his deep connection to his roots and his desire to contribute to Turkish football.

Karazor’s personal life has not been without challenges. In June 2022, he faced serious allegations while on holiday in Ibiza but continued to play for Stuttgart, supported by the club’s management.
